Effective Method To Wash Shower Curtains

Chaging the curtains in your bathroom can be quite expensive especially if you are after quality. What do you do if the curtain has some mildew and soap scum all over it?

One options is to soak it in the bath with bleach and some water. If you opt for this method you need to be careful especially if you own a colored one like a auqa blue and brown shower curtains.

An option that is less complicated and risky is the washer i.e. simply put it in the washing machine. Whether it’s a plastic or a plastic covered fabric just put it in the washing machine and it will be cleaned. Just make sure that it is set at non-rinse cycle and use normal detergent. An idea would be to put some towels in there as well so their abrasiveness can help in the cleaning process.

Other than that you can soak it in soda crystals. Compared to bleach this is way better especially in terms of eco-friendliness. In addition it is superior than bleaching because it does not emit ant nasty smell. Using this method is simple and straight forward, simply add some water in a bath and add the crystals then leave the curtain in there overnight.

If you own a washing machine you can put your urban black – red shower curtains in the wash and substitute the normal detergent with the soda crystals. One of the people I know even used vinegar instead of a conditioner. I haven’t tried this but see no reason why it wouldn’t work.
